LIFE GROUP CONNECTIONS

picAt First Christian Church of Atlanta, we believe that the Christian life is lived in relationship with others. Join a Sunday School class or a weekday Bible study group and you will find caring, gracious people ready to share the journey of faith with you, giving support and encouragement. We are a church which values thinking as well as feeling, so our study groups are enthusiastic experiences of Christians freely sharing their thoughts and experiences regarding faith. While we may not all agree about any particular point, we value one another’s perspectives and find we grow in maturity as well as humility when we are encouraged to see an issue from another person’s point of view. Sharing questions is encouraged and all people are welcomed.

In addition to study groups, we also encourage participation in prayer and meditation through groups which meet to approach scripture, not as an intellectual pursuit, but a devotional practice. Two such groups currently meet on Wednesday, and they offer an island of silence and reflection in the midst of our hurried and often confusing lives. These small groups provide an open circle, always willing and ready to embrace a newcomer.

We would not be complete, of course, if we only offered opportunities to pray, study and praise. Christ also calls us to serve, and this church believes that service must reach beyond our own walls. Join us in serving the community through Habitat for Humanity, or the NET Food Pantry, or dozens of other service opportunities that arise throughout the year.

Disciples are those who are more than just fans of Jesus – they are servants, students and worshippers. Join a group at First Christian Church of Atlanta which will challenge you to grow in discipleship!
