We Welcome Rick and Kris Branaman

Atlanta First Christian is moving into the next phase of our ministry that was begun exactly two years ago -- Pentecost 2006 -- when we called Roger Sizemore to be our Consulting Pastor for Discerning Missional Faithfulness. Over the course of the last two years, we have spent much time in small-group prayer, fellowship, study, and rediscovery of core Christian practices. This was an intentional journey which was essential to discovering the answer to two foundational questions:

What is God's call on Atlanta First Christian Church?
How will we, individually and as a congregation, answer that call?

The calling of our new pastors, Rick and Kris Branaman, is not the end of this process; it is merely the next major milestone on the way. We are thrilled to welcome Rick and Kris into our family, and we extend to Roger our grateful appreciation for his faithful stewardship to his call as he's guided us over the last two years. We welcomed the Branamans into our family on Pentecost 2008.

They were introduced to the congregation by Susan Stembel, chair of the Search and Call team.
